Thara Tropical Villas is a small community of five contemporary Balinese-style pool villas in the Baan Tai area on the north side of Koh Samui, set among coconut and rubber plantations with a mountain backdrop. The two-bedroom villas have a build area of 185 sqm on 290 sqm plots, with three bathrooms and a private 25.6 sqm saltwater pool.
The layout is open plan across the living, dining, and kitchen areas, with large windows and sliding doors connecting the interior to the outdoor spaces. High ceilings and a sunken living area add to the sense of space. Both bedrooms have king-size teak wood frames and direct pool access. The master suite has its own ensuite bathroom with an outdoor soaker tub crafted from UV-resistant artificial stone. The kitchen is fully equipped with Hafele appliances including a digital built-in 80-litre oven, with micro-cement countertops and custom teak wood finishes throughout.
Materials have been selected with the island climate in mind. Non-slip tiles emulate natural stone, accent walls use Samui’s natural stone, and the roofing is synthetic thatched, which is fireproof, waterproof, and provides good insulation. Handcrafted rattan pendant lights by local artisans run through the interior. The outdoor areas include a covered sala with weather-resistant cushions and a sunken lounge area. A laundry and storage room is included, along with parking for one car and one motorbike. Water supply is via a deep well system.
The furnished package includes Samsung appliances, custom teak wood dining sets, travertine stone coffee tables, and linen-style fabric furnishings. The development has no ongoing community fees. Both freehold and leasehold ownership structures are available. Construction takes 10 to 12 months, with a structured payment plan of a reservation fee followed by seven installments tied to construction milestones.
Baan Tai Beach is five minutes away, and Fisherman’s Village in Bo Phut is ten minutes. Baan Nai Rai Farm Cafe is two minutes, FitKoh Gym and Cape Away Beach Bar are five minutes. International schools and hospitals are approximately 15 minutes, and Samui International Airport is around 25 minutes.
